Beautiful cycle path from Bourget de Lac to Chambery.

Quiet road with views of Lake Bourget

That's exactly my experience. The traffic quickly distracts you from your thoughts. Otherwise, the scenery is great.

The climb is a bit longer, about 2 x 4.5km to the highest point, but it's easy to ride, averaging around 5%. The only annoying thing is the heavy traffic.

Very difficult summit, 10% average for 12km from Le Bourget du lac, no respite. The view at the top is worth it and in high season there is a restaurant bar for refueling.

Go to the next level on the route des balcons du lac du Bourget, go up to Roche St Alban. It’s climbing but it’s calm. Beautiful view of the Revard plateau.

I did this cycle path March on 19th 2024 from the Bourget-du Lac to the end near Chambery. It's a two lane route, however it's abysmal as it's packed with all types. Roadies who pass within centimeters, e-bikes the same, runners hogging the whole path. The French never seem to work as I rode the other side north on a March Wednesday afternoon last year and it was almost impossible to ride. Kids are not at school on Wednesday afternoons, so all the parents take off work and go for a ride / walk around the lake! Hate it for biking around here, although it's obviously very picturesque, but no fun with the packed paths.
