Ter Scoete (a brasserie) has long been one of Gerhagen's catering destinations. Together with the Peerdenposterij, it was also one of the first. Ter Scoete will, however, move away from its current form and be replaced by another building that will serve as a reception pavilion and will be fully demountable. Anyone looking for another place to eat and drink in Gerhagen and its surroundings in the meantime can go to one of the facilities that have been added nearby while Ter Scoete is closed or being demolished. You can also ask for tips at the forest museum (if it is open). The new pavilion will also have a catering function and must provide space for guides and park rangers. It should be ready by 2027. The complex includes a unique fan sluice and the Grote Steunbeer, designed to supply the city walls with water and control floods. VMM is working on restoration to allow the Demer to flow through the city in a controlled manner again.
