Known locally for years as the VVV Tower, it stands 18.75 meters tall. Before the current tower, there was a concrete one built in 1969. It stood for thirty years until concrete rot forced its demolition in 1999. The VVV, or Tourist Association, then built the current one (and was also responsible for the first one). Today, the tower belongs to the municipality after the VVV relinquished it. And anyone who saw it in the early days will certainly notice that the surrounding trees have grown somewhat taller since 1999. It is located by the playground behind the forest museum on the sand hill.

Situated in the Flemish nature reserve De Pinnekensweier/Pinnekenswijer, at the end of a path from the fen through the heath to the sandy road - and therefore on the sandy road itself.
