At the Bädertörle (Little Baths Gate) The open wall walk along the millrace with the bridge to the Rems islands is one of the most beautiful sections of the city wall. The name "Bädertörle" (Little Baths Gate) comes from the medieval bathhouses (Große Badhofstatt and Kleine Badhofstatt) that once stood here. The Rems River supplied the water for the public baths at the Bädertörle. The alleyway was called Badgasse (Bath Alley) until 1974. Flood marks are marked outside the gate. The new wooden footbridge leads to Erleninsel (Alder Island) and to the Talaue (community center), the city's "green lung."
