It is also a mystery to me why this highlight occurs so often here, but it is also a fantastic building

The Hohensyburg Castle ruins (Dortmund), with their Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial, are absolutely worth a visit, and offer a magnificent view of the Ruhr Valley and the beginning of the Sauerland region! The Dortmund Casino is also located there, with a rather interesting building! Below Hohensyburg, there's a great cycling and hiking trail, always along the Ruhr! For multi-day trips, you can easily stay overnight at the Hohensyburg campsite, even for just one night, with a tent, or in a camping barrel (2-4 people), or a trailer (including a kitchen, dishes, private toilet, and seating, both inside and out, for 2 people!)!

The wooded area around Kaisberg is ideal for both walking and jogging. Cyclists also enjoy the wide paths. At the top of the hill stands the Kaisberg Tower, which is in need of renovation. It can be easily climbed or explored from either side.

Harkortsee can also be circumnavigated on this side. It's a highly recommended alternative to the busy other side, where pedestrians, skaters, and cyclists often cross paths in good weather, especially on weekends and during the holidays. Driving slowly and with foresight is absolutely essential!
