The four-meter-high column combines Roman and Germanic symbols. The figures depict the battle between Jupiter and a giant, with the texture and equestrian figure appearing to follow a Celtic tradition. The column has been destroyed, buried, and rebuilt several times. The 1973 find consists of yellowish Keuper sandstone from the Heilbronn area – including the red Bunter sandstone components that had already been "reconstructed" in ancient times.¹ Using modern digitization techniques from KIT, the remaining secrets surrounding the column are to be revealed.
