The national colors - by the way pure coincidence - are not the only thing that connects Greece with Bavaria. King Ludwig I's enthusiasm for antiquities is legendary, but who knows that his son Otto was the first king of Greece? At the point where the prince said goodbye to his father in 1832 to take up his reign in Nauplia, the municipality of Ottobrunn is today. It has dedicated a special museum to the memory of its namesake. It shows over 500 exhibits on philhellenism of the early 19th century, on the Greek struggle for freedom and Otto's 30-year reign, but also objects from his personal possessions and a gallery with paintings, watercolors and graphics (by Klenze, Schinkel and Rottmann, among others) and sculptures (including by Imhof) as well as portrait medals. https://www.ottobrunn.de/ottobrunn-erleben/freizeit-geniessen/koenig-otto-museum https://www.museen-in-bayern.de/no_cache/das-museumsportal/museen/museen//otto-koenig-von-griechenland-museum.html?L=0

Ottobrunner festival meadow with maypole. In summer the summer fire festival takes place here. Plenty of chestnuts can be gathered in autumn. Right next door is the "Ottostrand" beer garden. There is also a small playground.
