This place is a gem. A bit of an oasis in a desert if you are on your bike and want a hot drink or to fill your water bottles. It is an honesty cafe in a house opposite Moduron Hafod Garage. Especially helpful if you are doing the Trans Cambrian Way in 3 days, just stay on the road at Ysbyty Ystwyth and drop down to Pont-rhyd-y-groes. You will have to climb back up to rejoin the route though (Hafodty road is most direct but steep!)

Strata Florida (Latin for ‘Vale of Flowers’) – is a ruined medieval monastery where generations of Welsh princes are buried. The abbey was founded in 1164 by white-robed Cistercian monks and it soon became the most famous church in Wales, after St Davids. Small coffee shop on-site, opening hours vary!

The new water wheel was erected in 2009 as part of a restoration project. It's on the location of one of the original wheels of the Lisburne mine back in the 1850’s. Cafe opposite!

This is a perfect viewpoint to see the River Ystwyth as it meanders westwards towards the sea at Aberystwyth. In summer, the view is fantastic green and wild. In autumn, the colours change to oranges and browns, so it's well worth visiting in any season.

This enormous water wheel has been part of a huge restoration project that's involved reinstating a wheel here and turning it into a functioning heritage wheel. There's a information board providing historical background. Keep a sharp eye out for it as you could easily cycle right past.
