From the bridge, a charming view opens up onto the tree-lined banks, the calm water surface, and the well-kept park landscape. Particularly impressive are the reflections of the old giant trees in the water, which, depending on the weather and season, create new photo opportunities time and again.

The Emmasee in Bremen's Bürgerpark was named after Countess Emma von Lesum (Lesmona), who was considered very generous and to whom the citizens of Bremen owe their Bürgerweide (the area between the Bürgerpark and the main station). As early as 1867, a coffee house with a music pavilion was built, initially as a tent improvisation. In 1897, it was rebuilt in Tyrolean style into an elegant coffee house, which was destroyed in World War II. In 1964, it was rebuilt with funds from the Bremer Bürgerpark lottery. The Bremer Bürgerpark lottery, as the name suggests, serves to preserve the Bremer Bürgerpark, which belongs to the citizens of Bremen and is financed solely by lottery funds and donations. By the way, Lesum, as part of Burg-Lesum, is today a district in Bremen-Nord, north of the river of the same name, the Lesum, which flows into the Weser near Bremen-Vegesack. Lesum or Lesmona probably became known beyond the region through the novel and the feature film "Summer in Lesmona", a true story in Lesum's Knoops-Park on the banks of the Lesum.

The Stadtwaldsee in Bremen – usually simply called "Unisee" – lies directly next to the university in Horn-Lehe. It was created in the 1970s as a result of construction and sand extraction work following the building of the motorway. The lake, which is approximately 15 meters deep and covers 29 hectares, is fed primarily by groundwater. The lake is an easily accessible local recreation area for the residents of Bremen. On the bathing side, there are sunbathing lawns and beach areas.

Passing clouds are reflected in the lake, and a light breeze rustles the leaves. The lake is named after Countess Emma von Lesum. Right on the shore is the café "emma am see," built in 1964 according to designs by architects Hans Budde and Carsten Schröck. Opposite the café is a rowboat rental if you'd prefer to explore the lake from the water.
