A very nice town square. With many old buildings and restaurants. but also a lovely bakery. You can sit on the terrace here. But perhaps sitting on one of the benches in the square is even more fun.

The Protestant church in Xanten is a listed building with roots in the 16th century. It was built after the Peace of Westphalia, which is reflected in the Baroque portal bearing the year 1648. Typical of the Reformed style, the church eschews opulent decoration, but impresses with its simple elegance and the organ from Cologne, which was restored in 2002 and is once again playing. A particularly interesting feature is the crypt beneath the church, which served as a burial site for over 130 years.
