Nice stone bridge on the edge of Thrapston spanning a nice section of the Nene. Some nice parkland and benches nearby to take a rest, or head into Thrapston for pubs and shops.

King's Head pub also operates a tea room, with a good selection of coffee and cakes. You can also order from the breakfast and lunch pub menus. Beautiful garden right on the river, lovely stop on a bike ride.

This section is difficult to negotiate at the best of times. It meanders through a small copse, is overgrown and when we did it it was badly rutted due to motorcycle tracks. It is probably better to cheat and, going North, go slight right when you get to the metal gates about 0.2 m before where the other footpaths deviate and follow the edge of the field on the other side of the hedgerow and this miss the obstacle altogether. I did this once coming the other way by mistake as, although I was going North I got turned around in the copse and when I emerged ended up back where I had started, fortunately I realised just in time before ending up back at Woodford.
