Very nice paved railway cycle path on the former railway line from Žďár to Přibyslav. Unfortunately no continuation directly to Žďár. The Vysočina Arena complex in Nové Město na Moravě is known not only in the field of cross-country skiing, but also biathlon and MTB. The most important cross-country skiing and biathlon competitions take place every year in the grounds of the Ski Hotel. Outside the races, the track is accessible to all cross-country skiers free of charge. Skis appeared in the vicinity of Nové Město na Moravě as early as 1890, and the forest hunter Rudolf Gabessam from Fryšava was said to have ridden the first ones. He soon found a number of enthusiastic followers, and so Nové Město na Moravě became the ski center of the Vysočina region. The tradition of organizing competitions dates back to 1910, when the first public competitions took place in Nové Město na Moravě. In 1934, the Golden Ski was competed for the first time, and since 1981, the Golden Ski has become an irregular cross-country skiing world cup. Gradually, Nové Město na Moravě expanded its sports scope. In the vicinity of the Vysočina Arena (formerly the name Zlatá lyže) there are hundreds of maintained hiking trails for cross-country skiers. Lovers of downhill skiing and snowboarding can use the ski slope on Harus Hill. In summer, skaters and roller skiers are offered a 450 m long asphalt circuit, which is adjacent to a 150 m long penalty wheel. Cross country lovers can ride through the Ochoza forest, the circuit is 4.7 km long with an elevation gain of 260 m and you will find several obstacles for cross country. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03OF9CzVurI
