The Gothic castle with a dominant seven-sided tower, hidden in the woods, dates back to the first half of the 14th century. It later grew to include a fort, which was destroyed by the Hussites. The castle itself defended itself against the invaders. During the Renaissance, in the second half of the 16th century, it was transformed into a hunting lodge and the surrounding forest in the field. The castle lost its residential function at the beginning of the 19th century, the nature reserve was abolished a hundred years later. Reconstruction in the second half of the 20th century restored the dilapidated mansion to its former Gothic-Renaissance form. Currently, you can choose from two tour routes to visit the castle. They will guide you through the Gothic and Renaissance palaces, their interiors and introduce you to the overall history of the building. The second route leads through a small walkway with an exhibition of Czech ghosts, a castle chapel or an exhibition and botanical hall.
