Family-friendly hikes around Dehesa de Navalcarbón
Location: It is located at the highest point of the Dehesa Boyal Park, on the border between Alcobendas and San Sebastián de los Reyes. The Viewpoint: It is easily recognizable by its wooden structure in the shape of a pergola with benches. Access: The most common route starts from the Polideportivo of San Sebastián de los Reyes or from the Manuel de Falla area in Alcobendas. It is a very pleasant walk and suitable for all levels. Environment: You are in the heart of the Mediterranean forest, surrounded by holm oaks, broom, and, of course, the name of the hill says it all: areas where ferns abound if you look closely at the undergrowth.

The Campillo Lagoon is located in Rivas Vaciamadrid, within the Southeast Regional Park, about 20 km from Madrid. It is a protected natural area, ideal for peaceful walks and outdoor activities. Origin: Artificial, formed in the 1960s and 70s after the extraction of aggregates in the Jarama River basin. Water from the aquifer filled the excavations and over time became a wetland with great biodiversity.

Excellent for dirt trails without touching asphalt. Wear appropriate clothing to avoid the sun, as there is shade, but not on the longer trails. I recommend going in the morning, as the return journey is quite arduous, especially in summer.
