The Ziegelei Schütte AG Heisterholz was one of the most important brick manufacturers in Northwest Germany at the beginning of the 20th century. The company shaped the region and its people, especially in the Minden area, to this day. Houses and street names, among other things, bear witness to this. The products, bricks, were used in buildings throughout the entire North German region. Finally, it also shaped the family of the entrepreneur Ferdinand Schütte. He laid the foundation stone for the Heisterholz brick factory 150 years ago. Renate Nöller, the founder's great-great-granddaughter, traces this history in the following article.

The dinosaur tracks of Barkhausen are a natural monument in a disused quarry in the Linner Berg near Barkhausen on the Hunte, a district of the Lower Saxony municipality of Bad Essen in the district of Osnabrück. On the bedding planes of the rock, which is about 150 million years old (Middle Kimmeridgian), fossil tracks (sequences of fossil footprints) of sauropod and theropod dinosaurs from the late Upper Jurassic (Malm) are exposed.
