Lescun is one of the most beautiful villages in the Pyrenees. Its exceptional natural setting, and its position facing the circus in the background both a spectacular and charming village. Lovers of a mountain atmosphere will be happy to find sets of stone buildings with their slate tiles. The narrow alleys once built for the houses to warm each other. Breathe, you are in Lescun!

The l'Aberouat refuge is located around two highly valuable natural areas: the Larra reserve and the Massif de l'Anie and Espelungére. It is part of the history of the area and is connected by various trails and routes. It should be noted that beyond its mission as a refuge, it has a long history in educational activities.

Beautiful mountain village with very original charm. Unfortunately, thanks to the clouds, there was nothing to see of the beautiful landscape around... In the village there is at least one gîte for hikers, a grocery store (open Sep 2016) and several restaurants, which were all closed at the beginning of September 2016. There will also be a campsite a bit away from the center of the village. The bus does not go to town every day. Gfs. you have to descend to the bus stop in the valley and take the bus from there. But then a good entry and exit point for GR10/HRP hikes.

Given the rural nature of many starting points, parking might be available but could be limited, especially during peak season. Always ensure you park responsibly and do not obstruct local access.
While many routes venture into remote mountain areas, you can often find cafes and small eateries in the villages along the valleys, such as Urdos itself or Lescun. It's always a good idea to carry sufficient water and snacks, especially on longer routes, as services might be sparse between villages.
The Pyrenees are rich in wildlife. Cyclists might spot various bird species, including raptors, and potentially encounter local livestock like horses and cows grazing in summer pastures, particularly around glacial lakes such as Lac Gentau.
