The high bridge on the state road 12 in Wismar in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was built in 1970 and was once the longest prestressed concrete bridge in the GDR. It leads partly over the mill pond. Due to the poor subsoil and the resulting difficulties with the statics, the bridge was completely overhauled in 2004 and 2005. The traffic routing and the design of the footpaths were also changed.[1]
