In 2025, there was already snow here at the beginning of October. Areas without stone ledges became a slippery affair. Luckily, we were climbing up here. Crampons would have been overkill, but poles can be useful.

The summit cross of Sass Rigais, the end point of a challenging but extremely rewarding via ferrata. I recommend this hike only for experienced climbers. Be careful when hiking up from val di Funes side. The path is not clear. Most probably landslide continues. It doesn't look like on pictures anymore.

This is the best place to put on your equipment directly before the via ferrata

I went up last weekend, and the path is nothing like it looks in the pictures. There must have been a massive rockslide in the last few months. Doable for experienced climbers or even those with via ferrata experience, but you still have to be careful; there are lots of loose rocks and few adequate places to hold on.
