Amazing location. When I stayed there were 6 of us crammed in together. In a pinch an additional 2 could have gone under the bench (max)

The tour is a disaster: about 80 percent of the route runs through a ski area that has destroyed and violated nature.

Amazing place to stop for a sandwich and great ride down from there but pretty rocky

Note that the cafe is only open after 5pm! Not during the day. You can however get a coffee and some small snacks from a vending machine and sit inside with great views.

Plenty of parking for accessing the hillside, and there are toilets. The base also provides poo pots to use if wild camping in the area, so that waste can be carried out and you can leave no trace.

Yes, The Cairngorm Mountains are a haven for wildlife. While jogging, especially on quieter trails through forests or near lochs, you might spot red deer, red squirrels, various bird species like the Scottish crossbill, and if you're very lucky, even a wildcat or capercaillie. Early mornings or late evenings often provide the best chances.
Due to the varied and often unpredictable weather in the Cairngorms, layering is key. Always carry waterproof and windproof outer layers, even on sunny days. Sturdy trail running shoes with good grip are essential for the diverse terrain, which can range from forest paths to rocky mountain trails. In colder months, thermal layers, a hat, and gloves are highly recommended.
While specific routes may not pass directly by a pub, many trails start or finish near villages and towns within the Cairngorms National Park, such as Aviemore or Braemar, where you can find pubs and cafes to refuel after your run. For example, routes starting from Glenmore Lodge are often close to amenities in the Glenmore area.
