The mill was first mentioned in 1478 when it was sold by the von dem Berge family. Over its long history, it was used as a flour mill, oil mill, groat mill, tan mill, and sawmill. From the early 1960s to the late 1980s, the watermill was used solely for the mill's own needs; after that, it was no longer in use. The mill, as it can be seen today, dates back to the early 18th century. It, like the bakehouse, is located on the mill island. The bakehouse dates back to the 17th century and is still fully functional. Bread is still baked here at least once a year, for the traditional potato festival. The mill's core dates back to 1771. The half-timbered building was expanded in several construction phases, and two stories were added in some parts. It is a simple brick half-timbered structure with gable roofs covered with red clay tiles. https://muehlenhof-soderstorf.de/die-muehle/
