Yes, open again (Wed to Sun, status: May 2026) and certainly recommended for a beer and snacks, or to bridge a rain shower. However, one should not expect too much: small menu, simple dishes and relatively long waiting times. The hut's better times are probably a while ago and (unlike the decor) unfortunately have not kept up with the times.

At 587 meters, the Valtenberg is the highest mountain in the Lusatian Mountains. The proud tower alone is worth a visit. An event operator was recruited for the restaurant in 2025 – who may also continue to run the mountain lodge as a tenant.
