Due to its north-western position on a mountain it can be quite chilly, even in summer. We experienced night temperatures of -6°C in June at night. Its position close to the mountain also causes quite unpredictable weather. Thunderstorms can come rolling over the mountain and surprise you at the most unexpected times. The ground is mostly gravel, so bring strong tent pegs and a hammer (or better). There are only a few spots on softer ground, available for small trekking tents. Most of these things can be remedied with the appropriate materials. If you know to bring them. In case you did not, there are smaller huts (Utia) with heating as alternative.

This campground lies nestled between the mountains at 1660m height. The tent and camper spots are quite utilitarian, on the smaller side and without much privacy. Privacy and sunbathing are probably not why you're here anyway. The location of the camping at the start of a number of hikes up the mountains, the road up Passo Valparola and near a busstop (that can bring you to a starting point, or offer you a fast way back) is ideal for both hikers, cyclists and mountain bikers. You can rent electric mountain bikes. Most summer nights there are campfires and music where you can easily meet fellow travellers, enjoy a burger and beer. The wellness can offer a pleasant reprieve from sore muscles. There is a well stocked mini-mart, but bread sells out really early.
