Lake Kalbele is idyllically situated on the Hochtannberg Pass and, in calm weather, reflects the surrounding peaks. A beautiful spot for a short break right by the road, ideal as a photo stop or starting point for hikes around Warth-Schröcken.

If there's a lot of traffic on the ascent and descent, you should keep a close eye on whether someone is dislodging rocks or debris further up. That can easily happen there. You certainly can't go wrong with a helmet, but no one was wearing one.

Lake Butzensee was a highlight after the descent, with 32 degrees Celsius. The ascent doesn't require any climbing, just a lot of scree and loose stones. So it's not an action-packed climb, but the view and the lake make up for it all.

A wonderfully clear mountain lake that offers refreshment, especially on warm to hot hiking days. If you undertake the circular tour to the Braunarlspitze counter-clockwise, you can treat yourself to some cooling or simply a quiet moment of relaxation after several hours of hiking. The water is easily accessible from all sides, so you can spread out well and find your own quiet spot. The stones in the shore area are quite sharp. Those who want to dip more than just their feet in the water might therefore consider packing a pair of light "beach/swim shoes". The water is typically cold for a mountain lake, even on very hot summer days. However, I saw an "hardened" person swimming in it for 2 minutes.

There's a great free parking lot behind the church. From there, you can start hikes toward Braunarlspitze or Mohnenfluh.

An alpine pasture located directly on the hiking trail, just 2km from Schröggen, with a very friendly hostess. A very welcome first stop for refreshments at the end of a circular tour to Braunarlspitze or Mohnenfluh. There are various drinks and small snacks such as bacon or cheese bread, Landjäger, or a whole snack platter. There is a beautiful view into the valley and the surrounding area. The various free-roaming animals, such as particularly unusual-looking chickens, rabbits, and guinea pigs, were a special attraction during the break.
