🦌 What is Eekholt Wildlife Park? • The park is located in Großenaspe near Bad Bramstedt and was founded in 1970. • Over 700 animals live in natural enclosures on approximately 67 hectares – including wolves, otters, eagle owls, wild cats, deer, birds of prey, and lots of wild boars with cute piglets. • The focus is on native species and environmental education – more like a forest than a safari, but with a truly clear conscience.

Eekholt Wildlife Park is a true natural highlight in the heart of Schleswig-Holstein – charming, educational, and surprisingly lively. You won't find elephants here, but you'll find wolves, wild boars, and plenty of "local stars" who would otherwise be seen in the forest rather than in the spotlight.

Here in Großenaspe, the Osterau becomes particularly picturesque: clear banks, wooden bridges, birdsong – the perfect place for photos, a picnic or a break in nature.

The Osterau is a tributary of the Stör and originates south of Bad Bramstedt. It winds its way for about 25 km through meadows, fields, and small forests—a true northern German natural idyll.

Beautiful spot on the Osterau. A narrow bridge takes you across the river. Pure idyll all around. You can also read all about the flora and fauna on the Osterau on information boards.

The Eekholt Wildlife Park in Großenaspe is an ideal destination for families and anyone interested in the animals from our region. The wildlife park tries to show native wild animals in their natural habitat and to illustrate the ecological dependencies. Dogs are allowed in the park - great! Website: www.wildpark-eekholt.de How do otters, wolves and eagles live here in the Region? What are the dependencies between soil, plants, animals and people? What significance do sustainability and nature conservation have for our natural spaces? Visitors can find answers to these exciting questions by visiting the Eekholt wildlife park. The nature experience site ideally combines the educational requirement with the opportunity to experience the beauty and diversity of our nature. In the 67 hectare park, more than 700 animals of over 100 different species live in their original habitats. Ideally located, the wildlife park makes use of the local geographic conditions - the Osterau glacial valley. The Au is one of the few uneven flowing waters in Schleswig-Holstein and forms the basis for the natural area. The result is the four large habitats of floodplain, wet meadow, forest and moor, which can be discovered as examples for the whole of Schleswig-Holstein.
