After the easy, but stooped access, the tunnel leads only a few meters with standing height into the mountain. Refreshingly cool on hot days.
Around Kaub, a total of 5 mining sites were combined to form the Viktoria pit, through which the high-quality slate of the "Kauber train" was mined until the late 1950s. The tunnel network covers 30 km, this is probably just an exploratory tunnel.
