On behalf of the king, Giovanni Salucci built a two-story country castle on the stud farm, which King Wilhelm I of Württemberg had created to expand the Marbach state stud. The Florentine Salucci (1769 - 1845) was appointed court architect in 1815 and also created the funerary chapel in Württemberg, Rosenstein Castle, the Wilhelmspalais, the royal riding center and the Lion Gate in the Stuttgart area.
