Cycling

Unterriexingen Castle can only be seen from the Enz Valley Cycle Path when the trees are not covered with foliage. It is privately owned and cannot be viewed.
You have a beautiful view of the castle and the tower from Schlossparkstrasse, over which the URI-Markgöningen cycle path leads.

Today's Unterriexingen Castle probably dates back to a "Staufen" castle complex of the Lords of Riexingen, which was first mentioned in the late 12th century. The castle, built on the northern edge of a high terrace to the right of the Enz and surrounded by a moat on three sides, probably also served to secure the transport of wood on the Enz and the parallel country road.

Today the castle houses an animal boarding house (private) and the former inn is a private agricultural business, where you can look around the courtyard at your own risk.

Hiking

Unterriexingen Castle on a high terrace in the Enz Valley goes back to a hilltop castle built around 1100 and is located on the north-east edge of the village of Unterriexingen, which today belongs to Markgröningen in the Ludwigsburg district of Baden-Württemberg.
