The so-called Fingals Cave in Illesheim is an abandoned sandstone quarry. It is located in a wooded area near the road connecting Obernzenn and Sontheim.

In addition, the wild and romantic place became a popular destination for the society of the 18th and 19th centuries, especially the inhabitants of Obernzenner castles and their guests.
Numerous inscriptions carved into the stone walls, up to five meters high, are reminiscent of former visitors and events.
