Built around 1820, the building known locally as the "Seracher Schlössle" initially belonged to the Oberamtsrichter (senior district judge) Karl August Georgii, who had it built as a stately country house. From 1834 it was also owned by Count Alexander von Württemberg, who extended the building and organised regular meetings as part of the "Seracher Dichterkreis" (Serach Circle of Poets), which was attended by Ludwig Uhland and Nikolaus Lenau, among others.
