The building of the Main Post Office in Bydgoszcz dates back to 1773, when barracks for a squadron from the 7th regiment of hussars commanded by General Paweł Józef Małachowski were built in this place. In 1815, the Prussian authorities allocated the building of the stables at that time to the post office.
