The Elephant Monument is an imperial colonial monument inaugurated in 1932. It was renamed ANTI-KOLONIAL-DENK-MAL at a Namibia Liberty Festival on May 18, 1990 and is located in Nelson Mandela Park on the edge of the Bürgerpark.

The anti-colonial monument was erected in 1931 as a Reich Colonial Teachings Monument for the German colonial warriors who died in the First World War and was considered by the colonial movement to be a central German colonial monument. In 1989 it was officially rededicated as an anti-colonial monument. At the same time, a bronze plaque with explanatory text was placed in front of the elephant.
