De Kiekoet is the bird watching spot on the Sint-Pietersberg. With a bit of luck you can see eagle owls, which have been breeding in this valley since 1997. The eagle owl is the largest owl species in Europe.

Thanks to the calcareous soil, you will find animals and plants here that normally live much further south. Here you will find the largest variety of butterflies in the Netherlands and beautiful orchids bloom in the summer.
This viewing spot offers visitors to the Sint-Pietersberg a unique glimpse into the ENCI quarry with its special inhabitants such as goats, foxes and unique birds.
An eagle owl nests in the crevices of the bare left wall of the quarry. It inhabits the wooded right side in winter.
