Summer (May-October): Daily from approx.
09:00 to 18:00.
Winter (November-March):
Restricted, often only Thu, Sat, Sun from 10:00 to 13:00/16:00.
Best time to visit: Between 11:00 and 14:00, when the sun falls vertically through the collapsed cave roof and makes the water glow.

Hiking
The cave was named after the nymph Melissanthi, who, according to legend, took her own life there out of unrequited love for the god Pan. The hydrology is also unique: it takes about 14 days for the water to flow underground from the other side of the island (Argostoli) to the cave.
