A lot of strange history is entwined around the Bernese castle. The family of the lord of the castle died from a poisoning of mushrooms, in the Third Reich it was a motorcycle driving school, later a men's dorm, then a day care center. Today it is the seat of the administration of the Siedlergenossenschaft Gartenstadt Hamburg. The depression in front of the castle was once a carp pond, today is a (dog) playground. But there are still plenty of magical ways around for the MTB.
