Langelandsfort was a Danish Navy fortress occupied until 1993 and is now a museum. From here, the Danish Navy monitored Warsaw Pact activities in the western part of the Baltic Sea during the Cold War. It served to monitor the passage of warships through the Langelangsbelt and to prevent it in the event of war.
The armament consisted of four 150 mm guns. The barrels of these guns came from dismantled gun emplacements on the German Atlantic Wall. There were twelve bunkers for protection.
Langelandsfort was the headquarters of the Langelands Marine District (LAM) from 1961 to 1986.

Hiking
It is definitely worth a visit. Langelandsfort is a military facility with several bunkers from the Cold War era. The history is shown there very impressively and you get a bit of an uneasy feeling because of how current it is.
