The Webicht is a deciduous forest located northeast of the city, consisting of ash, maple, and elm. The area, which tapers off towards Tiefurt, was first documented in cartographic records in 1778. In the Baroque period, it was a popular ducal hunting ground and the venue for events.

The Webicht was a popular study location of the Weimar School of Painting. For example, the forest landscape (Webicht bei Weimar) was painted in 1875 by the painter Karl Buchholz, who was called the genius of the Weimar School of Painting by Lovis Corinth. It is located in the painting collection at the Lindenau-Museum in Altenburg under inv. no. 1142. Christian Rohlfs was also inspired by this (Wikipedia).
