The Rottwagen is reminiscent of the trade route between Augsburg and Venice. Oberammergau has benefited from being an important trading post on the Rottweg since the 14th century and flourished thanks to this location. The bronze sculpture by Hubert Lang from the year 2000 is reminiscent of this time.
