The pair of ponds (the Tannteiche) lies in the headwaters of the Kreibitzbach stream, nestled in the woods on the southern slope of Jedlová Hill. The southern pond, Velký Jedlovský rybník (Large Tannteich), and the northern pond, Malý Jedlovský rybník (Small Tannteich), were originally intended to collect floodwaters and meltwater.
Today, the ponds serve water management purposes, and swimming in them is therefore prohibited. Protected animal species, such as the otter and the kingfisher, also inhabit the area.
