The pond is nothing special and is dry in the summer.
But the view is fantastic such as two gulfs and Monte Cofano.

April 18, 2024, 2024 04 Sizilien Monte Cofano Runde bei frischem Wetter, sehr schön!

The circular hike on Monte Cofano starts at the coastal car park near Custonaci and leads along the coast to the old watchtower Torre di San Giovanni. From here, the route heads inland and winds its way up to the Passo della Zita, where the first far-reaching views await. The final ascent to the summit of Monte Cofano (approx. 671 m) is steep and challenging, but rewards with a spectacular panorama of the Mediterranean and the coastal landscape. The descent first leads back to the Passo della Zita and then on an alternative coastal route along the sea back to the starting point.

I was so impressed by my first hike up to the summit of Monte Cofano that I wanted to climb it again. This time, I'd climb from the south side to the summit and then make the circuit counterclockwise. Unfortunately, the view from the summit was limited by clouds, but I did get to enjoy a beautiful sunset on the way back. Note: The route to the summit is closed according to a sign, but no one (including me) is obeying it. At a particularly steep section of the climb, an old rope is attached.
