This is a rare section of road on the west side of Lake Windermere which literally hugs the lake for a short period. There's also a footpath and set of steps close by which will take you up to the National Trust's Claife Viewing Station. Here you can pick up some tasty treats from Joey's Cafe and enjoy the excellent views.

Be careful of ticks here! My dog got absolutely covered in ticks at this Tarn. Have since removed 10 from his skin. We stopped here for less than 3 minutes and could see them crawling over him :( honestly never seen anything like it.
