We did the bike tour in the fall. Because of the wind on Mont Ventoux, it felt even colder than the actual temperature. So, be sure to pack warm clothes; maybe even change your clothes at the summit. It didn't get any warmer during the descent ;). We would have liked to have brought warm gloves. Overall: fantastic!

The region offers dramatic landscape transitions. You'll cycle through Mediterranean vineyards and olive groves at lower altitudes, then dense forests of holm oaks and conifers, eventually reaching the stark, treeless 'lunar landscape' near the summit of Mont Ventoux. Picturesque gorges like the Nesque, Toulourenc, and Ouvèze also provide stunning scenery.
Yes, beyond the challenging climbs, the park features numerous marked 'discovery' routes on less-trafficked roads that are suitable for various skill levels, including families. These routes often explore the agricultural plains and charming villages, offering a gentler cycling experience away from the main ascents.
From the summit of Mont Ventoux, you'll experience a 360-degree panorama encompassing the Alps, Baronnies, Cévennes, and the Comtat Venaissin plain. Other exceptional viewpoints include the Crête du Saint-Amand in the Dentelles de Montmirail and Rocher Rocalinaud. The best time for road cycling is typically from spring to autumn. Spring offers pleasant temperatures and blooming lavender fields, especially around Sault.
