"Im Gefilde" Skate Park and Waldperlach At the next junction, we turn right onto the pedestrian and cycle path. Directly south of Putzbrunner Straße, nestled in the Trudering-Neuperlach park mile, is the "Im Gefilde" skate park, built in 2011, with an area of 1,200 square meters, suitable for both beginners and professionals. The facility was developed in collaboration with the skating community as a so-called "flow facility." The youth initiative "Young City Movement" organized the "Light at Skatenight" event, which provided temporary lighting until 10 p.m. Thanks to the commitment of the young people, the floodlights have now been permanently installed. People now skate in the evenings as well. We continue south, parallel to Arnold-Sommerfeld-Straße, where there are various open spaces, an allotment garden, and a children's playground. To the east, we see the Waldperlach single-family housing development. At the beginning of the 20th century, a holiday home settlement was built here around what is now the Leiberheim Inn, which was originally built as a convalescent home for infantry soldiers. Over time, the forest was cleared, and the houses became permanent residences. Today, Waldperlach is a popular residential area that has retained the charm of a garden city. Immediately after the climbing playground, we turn right and reach Arnold-Sommerfeld-Straße via a small residential street. We follow this for a short distance and, just before the building complex of the former Siemens site, cross the parking lot towards the Neuperlach-Süd S-Bahn station.

Who dares? 😉 Tip: look at the end of the tube, not directly in front of the front tire. But beware, if it's wet, it's still dangerous.

The small lake is almost completely overgrown with reeds and only a narrow strip of water is visible at the edge.

The Isartrails Munich are highly popular for their natural mountain biking experience with countless trails for all skill levels. Other favorites include Rothsee Gravel Pit and Trails, known for its scenic trails around the lake and a small dirt park, and Dirt Park Kiesgrube Waldperlach for challenging dirt lines.
Yes, several options cater to families. Pumptrack Aschheim features an asphalt pumptrack for adults and children aged 6 and above, plus a separate track for younger kids and balance bikes. Pumptrack Unterföhring also offers a dedicated kidstrack alongside its main pumptrack. Additionally, Bikepark Allach and Pumptrack Solln are noted as family-friendly.
For dirt biking, Dirtpark Unterhaching is one of the largest BMX facilities in the wider Munich area, offering multiple lanes, jumps, and a pumptrack. Dirtpark Putzbrunn provides dirt lines for jumps and maneuvers. For pumptracks, Pumptrack Aschheim and Pumptrack Unterföhring are modern asphalt facilities suitable for various skill levels and equipment, including mountain bikes, BMX, scooters, and inline skates.
The Isar Trails offer an extensive network of natural singletracks with roots, flowy sections, and some technical challenges, ideal for enduro fans. Forstenrieder Park, while not a dedicated bike park, provides numerous natural mountain bike trails and wide forest paths for a more relaxed ride in nature. You can also explore MTB trails along the Würm between Paul-Diehl and Pasinger Stadtpark for scenic riverside riding.
The region offers options for all skill levels. Beginners can enjoy the dedicated kidstracks at Pumptrack Aschheim and Unterföhring, or the easier sections of the Isar Trails. Intermediate riders will find suitable terrain at Bikepark Allach and many sections of the Isar Trails. Advanced riders can challenge themselves on the more technical sections of the Isar Trails, the jumps at Dirtpark Unterhaching, or the challenging trails at Dirt Park Kiesgrube Waldperlach and the Enduro Jumpline Trail (Upper Bavaria).
Most bike parks and trails are best enjoyed from spring through autumn. Asphalt pumptracks like those in Aschheim and Unterföhring are particularly versatile as they dry quickly after rain, making them usable for a longer season, potentially even in milder winter conditions. Natural trails, however, are more dependent on dry weather.
Dirtpark Unterhaching is often noted for being less crowded, even on good days, making it a good option if you prefer a quieter riding experience while still having access to a large BMX facility with various obstacles.
Visitors frequently praise the diversity of trails, from natural singletracks to dedicated dirt parks and pumptracks. The Isartrails Munich are particularly loved for their beautiful, varied terrain that allows riders to progress their skills. The family-friendly atmosphere at places like Rothsee Gravel Pit and the modern asphalt pumptracks also receive high marks.
Beyond bike parks, Landkreis München offers a wide range of outdoor activities. You can explore numerous road cycling routes, such as the 'Perlacher Forst Bike Path' or routes around Lake Starnberg. Absolutely.
