The path along the precipice is a harmless forest path and can be walked without any problems.

The large cave has two entrances and exits. Light enters the cave through additional windows, creating a greenish shimmer on the rock walls.

Entry to the Vintgar Gorge costs €10 (2024) and goes 1.6km along the water (helmets are compulsory, you get them at the entrance and return them to the hut after 1.6km). The route is easy: on footbridges and paved paths you go to the hut at the Sum waterfall, where there are snacks and a toilet. After the hut you can choose between 2 tours for the way back: through the forests (+ 2.7km/90min) or through the Alps (+4.1km/120min). I chose the route through the forests and found it relatively unspectacular. Lots of uphill, sometimes you walk on the slope above the gorge, so you can hear the river even if you can't see it. I would recommend hiking boots to everyone (no sandals, flip-flops or shoes without tread).

A little insider tip, but still well visited, I can understand, it is very quaint and natural. Collapsed caves and rocky paths await you here. We were very impressed.😎🇸🇮✌️
