The summit of the Sausteig (1,912 m) is a prominent landmark on the Saalachtal High Trail. From here, the view extends far over the Glemmtal Valley, the Leogang Steinberge Mountains, and, on a clear day, all the way to the Hohe Tauern. A wonderful place to pause, enjoy the view, and celebrate reaching the summit.

Currently (summer 2025), there is a construction site next to the alpine pasture; the path from Saalbach to the Steinalm is nevertheless very beautiful. Opening hours depend on the weather.

Wonderful place to take a break and enjoy the views in all directions! The food is also very nice, and highly recommended - just make sure you check the working hours ahead of time to make sure it is not closed.

Wonderful place to take a break and enjoy some food/beverages! Just check ahead of time whether or not it is open. If it's closed, there's a vending machine outside with beverages that you can still buy drinks from, and sit out on the terrace looking into the beautiful landscape :)
