It is an idyllic place of prayer and meditation: outside the city, in a quiet corner in the middle of the Sulzhau deciduous forest, the Mariengrotte is located next to a spring. After 1945, the grotto was built by returning soldiers. The grotto, which was restored in 2007 and made wheelchair accessible, is complemented by a seating area and a Stations of the Cross. Wooden panels describe the suffering of Christ.

The Marienquelle was first mentioned in 1863 as the so-called Heiligenborn in the Marmer church chronicle, where its water was praised as "excellent water". It is a tradition to pause at the spring to rest and relax.

Beautiful spots 👍 The stream crossing is really fun and something different 🌿 Especially on warm days, it's also super refreshing 💧 Doable with a little caution, but that's exactly what makes it appealing 😊
