Ampfield Woods is approximately 381 hectares and managed by the Forestry Commission. The wood is a mix of ancient woodland and a plantation. This is a lovely peaceful place for a walk in the woods.

The location is great and so are the views, but the path can be very muddy and essentially impassable after prolonged rains. If you go in the wet, be prepared to carry your bike for the full cyclocross experience.
