Ampfield Woods is approximately 381 hectares and managed by the Forestry Commission. The wood is a mix of ancient woodland and a plantation. This is a lovely peaceful place for a walk in the woods.

Single trail easy to ride downhill on a mountain bike. I avoided the part across the hill with my cyclocross. Soon after the foot path goes into the wood the gravel path ends on private property.
