YHA Black Sail Hostel

Few youth hostels are as remote as Black Sail, only accessible by foot or by bike. Towards the head of the wild Ennerdale Valley, the hostel is wonderfully located for many of the classic fells of the western Lake District.

It is only a small hostel, with 16 beds in total. The heart of the place is the common room, whilst that all-important drying room is also present. There's a self-catering kitchen, though meals can also be arranged with the wardens. Note that there are no electric sockets in the building.

During the winter months it is possible to arrange a private hire of the entire hostel.

Been back recently if there is no road parking you can park at the farm turn right through the gate and follow the parking signs £5 all day or £10 for over night also vending machines and national trust toilets near by
