Also known as the White mines, they are active mines from the beginning of the 20th century (1902) until the 1950s. Although there are some documents that indicate that iron was also extracted, these mines were mainly used for the extraction of kaolinite, a white clay that was used to make white slip for industrial use. It is located on the southern slope of Quermany Gros, in the municipality of Pals (Baix Empordà). There are several entrances into the interior of the mountain, which form long rocky corridors with forks inside.
